PicStream is a web app I'm working on so you can share original, full resolution pics and videos with friends and family.
Why I built it
After a group trip, my friends and I would share pictures on WhatApp or some other messaging app. However, most messaging apps compress images and video heavily to save bandwidth. That's fine for quick selfies, but not for vacation photos. I wanted to create a clone of a shared Google folder without having to worry about storage limits and creating accounts.
What it does
- No account required to create or view
- Creating an album generates a random 5 word seed phrase which will be the password for that album
- Anyone with a link to the album and the seed phrase will be able to view and upload content
- Everyone gets to download full-quality files—no re-encoding, no shrinking
